In our household, the dinner set that we use for daily use is getting very tired looking. I have no idea how old it is, but this particular crockery dinner set was given to my partner by her grandmother, and I’m not even sure if it was brand-new then. My girlfriend is very sentimental and she wants to keep using this dinner set as it reminds her of her grandma that she loved dearly, but it really is looking very worn now.
The plates are scratched and there are a few small chips. I think that originally this dinner set must have been a 30 piece dinner set but all that remains now are 5 dinner plates, 3 side plates, 4 bowls, 3 teacups and 3 saucers. I think you would agree that we are desperately in need of new a dinner set for daily use.
Recently I noticed a great looking dinner set that claims to be chip and break resistant which would be perfect for our kitchen. Most reviews mention that the crockery feels very light in weight, but is tough enough to withstand almost everything, except perhaps for the UK postal system! A few purchasers say that the plates are thinner than standard ceramic plates and this makes for easy loading and unloading of the dishwasher, and their lightness makes lifting up to high cupboards a breeze.
A small negative point made by a few people is that these 12 piece crockery sets are fine for everyday use, but would probably not be first choice for a dinner party, however, with this is mind, it must be noted that most of the buyers like the shiny surface and think that the dinner sets looks good. One mentions the word ‘minimalistic’ whilst another says that her dinner set ‘oozes quality’ which is okay in my book.
